Throughout his career, Paul Levinsohn has owned, developed and acted as counsel for a number of real estate transactions throughout the New York metropolitan area. Over the past five years, Mr. Levinsohn has acquired and sold over 200 retail commercial properties.
He is currently the Managing Partner of the New York City Regional Center (“NYCRCâ€). The NYCRC was approved by the Department of Homeland Security to raise and invest foreign capital in real estate development projects throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx.   The goal of the NYCRC is to create jobs in areas of high unemployment.
Mr. Levinsohn also has experience in private equity transactions in his career. In 2004, he and his partners privatized one of the northeast’s largest convenience store/gas station chains. In addition, Paul and his investment team purchased the assets of a New England nutritional supplement manufacturer that sells vitamins to major retail outlets like Wal-Mart, Walgreens, CVS, and the Vitamin Shoppe.
Paul Levinsohn has also devoted significant time to public service. In 2002, he was appointed Chief Counsel to the Governor of New Jersey. In this position, Paul was responsible for overseeing a staff of twenty-one attorneys and managing the legal operations for the Governor’s Office. He also clerked for Judge Anne E. Thompson, U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey from 1995 to 1997.
Mr. Levinsohn also served as a charter corps member of Teach for America before entering law school. Teach for America is a national teacher corps program that places teachers in rural and inner city school districts. During his stint with TFA, Paul taught American History in a high school in Warren County, North Carolina.
Paul Levinsohn earned his undergraduate degree from Duke University along with his J.D. and M.A. (political science.) During his time at Duke, Paul served a three-year term on the University Board of trustees.
